Vicente Perez/Peulla

Today we embarked on a journey across the Andes Mountains. The name Patagonia comes from the word "patagon" used by Magellan to describe the native people, believed to be giants by members of his expedition. We visited Vicente Rosales National Park, with its wealth of wildlife and extraordinary landscape of trees, mountains and snowy volcanos. The park was established in 1926 and was the first park in Chile. It is considered a jungle because of its density and green foliage. There are giant ferns everywhere and dense bamboo. We drove along a very narrow muddy road through the park to the border of Chile and Venezuela. There are only a few people that live around the park, and all of them have radios that they use to alert the buses that they are going to venture out on the road because only one vehicle can use the roads at a time because they are so narrow.
Situated within Vicente Perez National Park, Peulla is a unique place where ancient forests, untouched by nature and warm inhabitants welcome visitors. After checking into our hotel, we zip-lined through the canopy tree tops in the rain forest. WOW
