Today we toured the city of Santiago with a driver from the hotel. Betsy arrived and went with us. Unfortunately Letty and Michael are STILL not here as their Delta flight was again cancelled. They will be here on Monday. Our driver was amazing and showed us all the various districts that make up the city of Santiago. Each district has its own mayor, and there are 16 different districts! Santiago is surrounded by Mountains. The ocean is about 70 miles from Santiago. The entire country is only about 80 miles wide from East to West. We took photos from The statue of the Virgin Mary, which is the highest point in the city proper. We had dinner at an AMAZING restaurant called NoLita. It was only a five minute walk from the hotel. Everyone eats here beginning about 9 pm. We arrived at 8 and by 10 the restaurant was packed. I had a tomato gazpacho with fresh oysters and a salmon dish with tomato and artichoke. DELICIOUS
