Today we started our tour with a stop at the Recoleta Cemetary, the final resting place of many famous people. the most notable being Eva Peron. The entire cemetery is laid out in sections like city blocks, with wide tree-lined main walkways branching into sidewalks filled with mausoleums. We continued our tour with a visit of the southern portion of the city, beginning with La Boca, a neighborhood, or barrio, within Argentine capital. La Boca retains a strong European flavor with many of its early settlers being from the Italian city of Genoa. We walked down colorful streets with brightly painted wood and metal houses in a working-class neighborhood where you can still find painters, dancers, and singers performing tango music. Afterwards we walked through the Sunday artist's market and visited Buenos Aires Design.
